The Philadelphia Phillies come into the offseason with some tough questions to answer. They are at risk of losing some key contributors, like Ranger Suarez, J.T. Realmuto, and Kyle Schwarber.

Schwarber is the biggest name on this list, and will be someone plenty of other teams try and sign. He is coming off a career year where he played in all 162 regular-season games, hitting .240/.365/.563 with a career-high 56 home runs and 132 runs batted in.

He has been a staple for this team over the last few years, and would be quite the player to lose. So, Philadelphia must do all it can so that does not happen.

Phillies urged to retain their beloved slugger after career year

Losing Kyle Schwarber could be detrimental to this club. He has carried the offense on his shoulders, especially when players like Bryce Harper find themselves on the IL.

While he will cost the team a large sum of money, he should be the front office’s top priority going into the winter. Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller also feels the same way.

“Schwarber is the one they figure to be the most adamant about keeping, as only Aaron Judge (210) has hit more home runs than Schwarber’s 187 over the past four years. Even though he doesn’t play the field and even though he’ll turn 33 before the 2026 campaign begins, you’ve got to think it’s going to take north of $100 million to retain him.”

Schwarber’s offensive numbers over the past four years have been incredible, only being topped by two-time AL MVP Aaron Judge. Despite his age and the cost, Schwarber wholeheartedly makes this team a contender.
