The Las Vegas Raiders have a clear top trade candidate in wide receiver Jakobi Meyers with a little over one week to go before the NFL trade deadline.

Meyers, who is in the final year of his contract, has been disgruntled since the offseason, when the Raiders failed to sign him to an extension.

That led to Meyers requesting a trade, and the veteran wideout revealed last week that his demand stands and he still wants to be moved.

“Oh, for sure,” Meyers said when asked if he still wants to be trade, per ESPN’s Ryan McFadden. “But I’m a professional at the end of the day. I’m just trying to play good football.”

On Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders will only trade Meyers if “they felt they were getting strong value in return.”

Schefter adds that, as of right now, the Raiders haven’t received such an offer.

The fact of the matter is, the Raiders can’t afford to be too picky here. That’s not to say they should allow themselves to be taken advantage of, but Las Vegas can’t be stubborn, either.

The Raiders are going nowhere at 2-5 and keeping Meyers isn’t going to change that.

Adding to that, considering how unhappy Meyers is with the team, chances are he’s going to bolt in free agency in 2026, which leaves the Raiders in danger of losing Meyers for nothing next year.

Schefter reports teams like the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills are believed to be the most aggressive one in the wide receiver market, so there will be plenty of suitors out there, which will help drive up the price.

Las Vegas desperately needs to add more picks to help its roster building and can’t let Meyers walk out the door for nothing. Not trading Meyers and allowing him to depart in 2026 would amount to a colossal mistake by the Raiders.
