It has been a disappointing season thus far for Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson.

Hockenson has been one of the better tight ends in the league for much of his career, but through six games this season, the veteran is averaging just 32.7 receiving yards per game, which is Hockenson’s lowest average since his rookie campaign.

In Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers, Hockenson is off to yet another quiet start. Here’s a look at what’s going on.

Is T.J. Hockenson playing tonight?

Yes, Hockenson is active and in the lineup, but quarterback Carson Wentz just hasn’t targeted him through one drive.

Instead, Hockenson connected with his two-best receivers, Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Also, the Vikings only ran six plays on their opening drive, which ended in a punt.

We’d like to say Hockenson will get going soon, but there is no guarantee that’ll happen with what we’ve seen out of him in 2025.
