The Boston Celtics’ future is dependent on their superstar’s recovery, and every little thing can help.
In their second-round loss to the New York Knicks, the Celtics suffered a much more devastating loss than on the scoreboard when Jayson Tatum tore his Achilles in Game 4. With an Achilles tear keeping star players out for entire seasons in the past, Boston is hopeful to see Tatum on the floor sometime next year.
With someone who loves the game as much as Tatum, not being able to get on the floor for such a long time can be heartbreaking. Still, as a superstar in the NBA, he has made plenty of connections in the sports world, which can go a long way as he awaits his return to the floor.
On Friday, Tatum posted on his Instagram story that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson sent him a signed jersey, wishing him a 100% recovery. That type of gesture in the sports world isn’t always expected, but it’s always heartwarming to see.
Jackson, of course, has made a name for himself in Baltimore, winning two MVPs throughout his relatively short NFL career. He and Tatum have both been at the top of their respective sports for the better part of a decade and should continue to be household names for the rest of their playing days.

As Tatum hopes to make it back in the near future and help Boston take another step toward an NBA title, he at least knows that he has a large support system that is rooting for him to come back better than ever.
