Sunderland return to Premier League action following the international break by hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Stadium of Light on October 18.
After being promoted to the top flight this season, Sunderland have made a decent start to the campaign, currently standing 10th in the league table after three wins, two draws, and two defeats.
Wolves, meanwhile, are having a terrible run, sitting bottom of the table. The Midlands club, who are yet to bag a win in the league, have earned only two points after losing five out of seven games.
Overall, Sunderland and Wolves have faced each other in 122 games across all competitions, with the Black Cats having the advantage with 49 victories, while Wolves have managed 41 wins.
However, in the Premier League, Sunderland have won only one out of the six matches against Wolves, who have bagged four victories.
