The Pacers came into Game 6 with their season on the line, and they played like it in the first half. Indiana produced an impressive first 24 minutes of action, taking a 64-42 lead over the Thunder into halftime.
A big reason for the Pacers’ success is the team’s bench, as Indiana has leaned on its depth for the entire season. T.J. McConnell and Obi Toppin have led the way as the Pacers have been able to use a full rotation of players to get this deep into the playoffs.
That continued in the second half, as the Pacers kept their foot on the gas, blowing out OKC 108-91 to force a decisive Game 7. McConnell and Toppin led another huge bench performance in the team’s final home game, but they weren’t the only reserves who showed up in a big way.

Pacers bench stats in Game 6 vs. Thunder
Through three quarters, the Pacers bench scored 31 points on 11-25 shooting (5-12 from deep), grabbed 16 boards, dished six assists, and added six steals. They helped Indiana take a 30-point lead over Oklahoma City and put the game far out of reach.
The fourth quarter was filled with bench players from both teams playing in virtual “garbage time,” skewing the bench stats. Here are Indiana’s totals for the game:

- 3PM-3PA: 6-18
The Pacers bench outscored the Thunder bench 19-3 in the first half, as eight different Pacers scored while just five Thunder players produced at least one point. Additionally, the bench’s 14 minutes are more than half of the 22 that the Pacers collected in the first half.
The third quarter proved to be more of the same, as Indiana’s bench added to production with 12 more points.

Once again, McConnell helped spark the Pacers off the bench, as the backup point guard has been an energizer all series. In the first half of Game 6, McConnell scored eight points and collected five rebounds and three assists, making his presence felt all over the court.

McConnell continued to find success in the second half, but he specifically slowed down as the rest of the bench carried the load.

- Rebounds: 6
- FGM-FGA: 6-12
- 3PM-3PA: 4-7
- FTM-FTA: 4-6
Toppin is another reason why the Pacers are in this position, and Game 6 was no different. He ended the game with 20 points to lead all Pacers scorers, hitting four three-pointers and trailing only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for most points in the game.

With the performance, Toppin has now totaled over 70 points, 30 rebounds, and 12 threes this series, joining Robert Horry as the only player to produce those numbers off the bench in an NBA Finals.
