Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers look to stay rolling in a Week 3 contest against the Jets on Sunday afternoon.
Tampa Bay opened its season with a pair of narrow victories, winning two games by a combined margin of four points. Last week, on Monday Night Football, Mayfield executed an 11-play, 80-yard drive in just over two minutes, with Rachaad White punching in the game-winning score with just six seconds to play.
Mayfield’s fourth season with the Buccaneers is off to a near-flawless start; the veteran has thrown for five touchdowns and no interceptions. Three of those touchdown passes have gone to rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka, who has impressed to begin his NFL career.
Things aren’t as rosy for the Jets, as new head coach Aaron Glenn is still vying for his first NFL head-coaching victory. He’ll look to accomplish the feat this week without his starting quarterback, Justin Fields, who is in concussion protocol. Veteran journeyman Tyrod Taylor will start for Gang Green.
