Real Madrid have had a busy summer transfer window with multiple signings mainly focused on strengthening their defense after they fell short of winning any major trophy last season.

Xabi Alonso is set to change that narrative at the Spanish capital as Los Blancos have been only among the three teams in La Liga to win their first two games in the 2025/26 season.

Real Madrid registered a dominant 3-0 win over Real Oviedo with Kylian Mbappe scoring a brace and Vinicius Jr. also getting into the scoresheet after coming on from the bench.

However, following the match, there were reports via AS that suggested that Real Madrid are expecting sales of a couple of players in this transfer window.

They reportedly are waiting for calls from Premier League clubs for Dani Ceballos and Rodrygo Goes.

While Rodrygo started against Oviedo, Ceballos only made a brief appearance in the second half and therefore talks surrounding his departure are intensifying in the market.

The 29-year-old is probably the sixth option in midfield for Alonso and therefore the Spain international may look at other options seeking more gametime.

What hint did Dani Ceballos drop about his exit?

Following the 3-0 win over Oviedo, Ceballos posted an Instagram story with the caption ‘Last Dance’, indicating that his time at Real Madrid could be up as he reportedly have offers from elsewhere.

Earlier reports suggested that unnamed Champions League outfits have enquired about the 29-year-old and despite his interest of staying in the Spanish capital, he may move this summer.

Ceballos felt he could fight for his place at Real Madrid but considering next year’s World Cup, a move away would be more logical, making himself available for Spain national team.

Real Madrid apparently are open to selling the midfielder for any bid in the region between €15-20m ($18-23m)

Ceballos joined Los Blancos in 2017 from his boyhood club Real Betis and therefore he has a long-standing dream of returning to Betis.

The Spain international has spent two loan spells in Arsenaland hence a move to Premier League cannot be ruled out completely.
