The Buffalo Bills have made multiple moves at the wide receiver position this offseason. After Mack Hollins left for the New England Patriots, Buffalo signed former Los Angeles Chargers wideout Joshua Palmer. They also added former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore shortly after the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite the moves they’ve made, it still feels like the Bills’ receiving corps is missing a true proven deep threat – something they haven’t truly had since John Brown. With that in mind, they may have the opportunity to go out and get one of the top deep threat receivers in the NFL.

Per Andrew Fillipponi, Indianapolis Colts wideout Alec Pierce is rumored to be on the trade block.

“Rumor: Colts WR Alec Pierce is on the trade block. Final year of contract,” Filliponi reports on X. “[He]led the NFL in yards per catch and had 8 TDs last season. Steelers should make that call ASAP. He would be legit #2. Trade a 4th and Cory Trice Jr.”

Pierce averaged an astonishing 22.3 yards per catch in 2024 with eight touchdowns. Back in March, PFF listed him as the best trade asset on the Colts’ roster.

“The Colts have four legitimately viable wideouts in Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, Pierce and A.D. Mitchell,” Bradley Locker writes. “Pierce is also the only one in a contract year, and his dynamic deep receiving skill (99.1 PFF receiving grade) would resonate with most teams. Indianapolis might keep all four in a pivotal year for its quarterback room, but Pierce would be the best bet to be traded.”

Should Pierce be on the block, the Bills should send Curtis Samuel and a Day Three pick to the Colts to acquire his services.
