Peacock is much more than just the home for popular TV shows like “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” It has become one of the biggest streaming services for sports fans.

“Sunday Night Football,” which features some of the NFL’s most exciting matchups, is available to watch on Peacock, but that is just the headliner. Peacock also regularly covers college basketball and football games, Premier League matches, golf tournaments and major WWE events.

And starting with the 2025-26 season, Peacock will have a full slate of NBA games. Are you ready to dive into the massive library of content?

Does Peacock have a free trial?

No, Peacock is not currently offering a free trial for new subscribers. However, there is a student discount available if you are 18 years of age or older, a student enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced degree program at a Title IV-accredited college or university in the United States and reside in the U.S. You will also need to provide a valid form of payment in order to receive the discount.

Peacock pros and cons

Pros

  • An affordable option: Whether you choose the Premium or Premium Plus plan, Peacock is much cheaper than many other streaming services.
  • Full library of content: Peacock has plenty of sports coverage, but a subscription also gives you access to some of the best shows and movies on any streaming service.

Cons

  • Not a perfect replacement: While Peacock does offer some channels as part of its plans, it can’t replicate the extensive guide that you would typically see on your screen with a cable or satellite package.
