Eberechi Eze is expected to play for Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, despite increasing speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has travelled with the Palace squad and could be named in Oliver Glasner’s starting XI on Sunday afternoon.
His presence comes as Spurs continue to monitor his situation closely, with Thomas Frank believed to be a major admirer of the England international.
Glasner was quizzed about the futures of both Eze and defender Marc Guehi in his pre-match press conference and remained calm in the face of transfer speculation.
“Marc has trained the entire week with us, every single training session, the same with Ebs,” Glasner explained.
“They’ve prepared the best way for the Chelsea game on Sunday afternoon. I’ve been in the football business for too long, so I know that at any time of any day, things can happen. If you ask me now, I expect both Marc and Ebs to start on Sunday.”

Eze had a £68 million release clause in his contract (approximately $86 million USD), but that expired on Friday without being activated.
Tottenham are understood to value the playmaker at a lower figure and believe they can negotiate a deal for less before the transfer window closes.
The former Queens Park Rangers man has been a key figure for Palace since joining in 2020.
He scored 11 league goals last season, playing a major role in securing the Eaglesā mid-table finish.
While Spurs continue to weigh up their options, Palace remain focused on beginning their league campaign strongly.
For Glasner, having Eze available against Chelsea provides a major boost, but Sporting News understands Tottenham are still actively pursuing a deal before the transfer window closes on Monday September 1.
