The defending Premier League champions have the honour of kicking off the new campaign in front of their home fans as Liverpool host Bournemouth in the first match of the 2025/26 season.

The Reds may be coming off a triumph in Arne Slot’s first year, but they spent huge money to refresh the squad in the offseason anyway, bringing in Florian Wirtz for a club record fee, plus the arrivals of Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerke,z all for large fees.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, have refreshed in a different way, banking big money on sales for Kerkez as well as fellow defenders Dean Huijsen and Ilya Zabarnyi.
