Manchester United have made some smart moves in the transfer window this summer, securing three big players in attack mainly to address their situation in the forward line from last season.

The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League last and while there were plenty of issues, goalscoring appeared to be a major concern.

Therefore, United  invested £200m to secure the signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbuemo and Benjamin Sesko to address the goalscoring situation at Old Trafford.

While Cunha and Mbuemo are Premier League proven forwards and both had great 2024/25 campaign, Sesko joins the team with a lot of promise and potential after a decent season at RB Leipzig.

The Slovenian is still unproven in the Premier League and is expected to take time whereas Mbuemo and Cunha are expected to replicate similar outcome from their former clubs.

However, former England striker Peter Crouch is more excited about the 22-year-old moving to Old Trafford than the proven forwards.

It is probably because Sesko’s style of play is extremely similar to how Crouch used to play back in his days at the Premier League.

During his Premier League 2025/26 Golden Boot predictions, Crouch told Mirror Football, “The favourites for the Golden Boot will be Alexander Isak, if he gets his situation sorted out, Erling Haaland and Mo Salah, the same old faces.”

“But out of the new faces, Sesko is the one that I like watching. I’m excited by him. There’s still the fact that he hasn’t played in the Premier League and that is something that you have to look at.

“Can he settle straight away? But he’s the player that excites me the most out of the new signings.”

What will Benjamin Sesko bring to this Manchester United roster?

Manchester United signed Sesko from RB Leipzig for a whopping £74m ($100.3m) transfer fee as they believe that the Slovenian could be the solution to their problems in attack.

The 22-year-old marksman brings pace, power and athleticism to this United roster but his numbers require massive improvement to thrive in the Premier League.

Sesko is still a young striker who is learning the ropes and United fans will expect that Amorim manages to extract the best out of him.

He finished the 2024/25 season with 21 goals in 45 games for RB Leipzig across competitions. Out of which only 13 goals came in the Bundesliga but his link-up play, ball-striking and athleticism caught the eye of several top teams in Europe.

According to FBref, Sesko averaged 1.68 progressive carries, 1.33 successful take-ons, and won 2.61 aerial duels per 90 minutes last season proving that he is an excellent ball carrier and can also bully defenders in the final third with his tall stature and athleticism.

While it will be different kind of challenge for the 22-year-old, it remains to be seen how the youngster works in tandem with Cunha and Mbuemo in a possible front three for United.
