There’s no way George Wolkow did this.
But the Chicago White Sox prospect, playing for Single-A Kannapolis, did indeed do something you’ve never seen before.
You can just watch this highlight over and over.
Wolkow was hitting with a runner in scoring position, and he tried to call timeout.
The umpire didn’t grant the time, though, and with two strikes, Wolkow was in trouble as he had already started stepping out of the box.

But he somehow saved the day.
Wolkow stuck out his bat with one hand and managed to poke a run-scoring hit through the infield.
Magic.

Wolkow is 19 years old and was a seventh-round pick out of a high school in Illinois in 2023.
On the season, he’s batting .215 with eight doubles, a triple, 11 homers, 50 RBI and 26 steals in 94 games.
He’s still got a long way to go to make the major leagues, but he’ll have this special moment to look back at for a long time.
It’s still hard to believe. Just go watch it again. That’s pretty darn cool.
