It has been a stuttering summer transfer window for Bayern Munich with signings and also with player sales.
While they have only secured a handful of new players this summer, they have only sold a couple of names from their surplus list.
One such player who embarked on an ambitious move leaving Bayern Munich has to be Mathys Tel, who spent the second half of the last season on loan at Tottenham and they eventually signed him permanently this summer.
In a half season, Tel impressed the Tottenham hierarchy with his versatility and work ethic, and they believed in his potential despite his minimal goal output.
Tottenham also got a good deal for the 20-year-old forward as they reportedly signed him for €35m ($40.7m) after paying €10m loan fee in January.
Tel also admitted that he spoke to Harry Kane before embarking on his big move to Premier League and the Englishman, who had spent his entire career in North London insisted him in joining Spurs.

Recently, Bayern played Tottenham in a preseason friendly where the Bavarians thrashed the Lilywhites 4-0 and after the game Kane issued his stamp of approval for the French forward.
Tel struggled for minutes last season under Vincent Kompany and therefore Bayern hierarchy decided to loan him to Tottenham in January, and he registered three goals and an assist from 20 appearances.
What did Harry Kane say about Mathys Tel’s move to Tottenham?
Kane, who is Tottenham’s record goal scorer believes that Tel has the quality to succeed for Spurs under the tutelage of Thomas Frank.

“He’s got great potential. Whether he’s playing as a left winger or a striker, he gets into dangerous areas, he can finish the ball well, and he’s good one-v-one,” Kane told Tottenham’s official website.
“I don’t want to put too much pressure on him – he’s going to the Premier League, he’s still extremely young although he has a lot of experience here, he still has to develop and improve, he knows that and he works hard to do that, so I just want him to go and enjoy himself, have confidence and hopefully he can shine in the Premier League.”
Tel moved to Bayern in 2022 after they saw his great potential and signed him from Rennes for €28.5m ($33m).
He played decent number of games in the prior two seasons as he also scored 10 goals in the 2023/24 campaign in 41 matches with seven goals coming in the Bundesliga.
However, things have just not worked out for the 20-year-old since Kompany’s arrival in Bavaria as he only featured in 14 games whilst starting in only four.
Therefore, a move to Tottenham has given him a new leash of life as he can establish himself in North Lonon if he manages to deliver a big season for Frank in his maiden campaign at the club.
