Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe made his NFL debut Thursday night when the Seattle Seahawks faced the Las Vegas Raiders. The game ended in a 23-23 tie (the NFL doesn’t do overtime in pre-season).

According to most NFL experts, Milroe looked impressive in his NFL debut. He was effective in the passing game, and he was able to show off his running ability as well.

Although the game didn’t end the way he wanted, Milroe was just thrilled to get the opportunity to start.

“No. 1, what a dream come true to play my first NFL game in Lumen Field,” Milroe said after his debut in Seattle. “I think the best thing for all of us is to just regroup, but also just build on this game. I think that’s so important as you go on any journey, you have to start somewhere. So now with that, you’re able to look upon what we did well, what we didn’t and just try to build upon that. Just go 1 percent better as we have this opportunity.”

Milroe added, “But for me, it was just awesome just to be in Lumen Field. That’s my first time here in the stadium, so now the biggest thing is just keep on building and just see every opportunity for us to just get better.”

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald was impressed with the rookie quarterback’s debut.

“I thought Jalen played well,” he said. “I thought he made good decisions operation-wise. There’s some things that we want to be a little cleaner on, but throwing the ball accurately, throwing it on time and then when it wasn’t there, extending plays with his legs, I thought was really cool.”

Milroe completed 60 percent of his passes for 61 yards and ran for 38 yards. He also led the Seahawks on a touchdown drive in the second half.
