Aaron Donald and Micah Parsons together on one defensive line.
NFL quarterbacks everywhere just shuddered.
It’s a longshot, maybe even mostly a joke from Donald, but it’s an idea that is officially out in the world. The Los Angeles Rams’ legendary defensive tackle, and the Dallas Cowboys’ pass-rushing star in the middle of a trade request, have officially touched base on social media.
Donald wrote Tuesday on Instagram: “If (Parsons) go to the Rams I might have to call (my agent) and get in football shape… that Dline would be unreal (fire emoji).”
Parsons replied to Donald’s comment: “man!!! Don’t tell me info like that!!” He tagged his own agent in the comment.

They would immediately have a case as the best defensive line pairing in the history of the sport.
And that’s before you even consider that second-year phenom Jared Verse is already on the Rams’ defensive line, too.
It’s not clear that the Cowboys will actually cave in and trade Parsons. Owner Jerry Jones certainly seems to be suggesting that this is all just a part of the negotiations.
And it’s also not obvious the Rams could really afford to trade for Parsons and then give him the largest contract ever for a non-quarterback.
But the chance to dream on a Donald-Parsons defensive line is something too good not to at least think about.

If the Rams got real intel that Donald really might come back, that’d provide added incentive to ring the phones in Dallas and see if there was a trade that could actually get done.
Donald’s weight room workouts still go viral on social media occasionally. He’s clearly still in immense shape.
He and Parsons would give opposing teams fits, that’s for sure.
