As the Vikings gear up for the upcoming NFL season, all eyes will be on the new man under center: Quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

McCarthy, a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, missed all of his rookie season after tearing his meniscus. Healthy again, the former Michigan standout has the keys to the Vikings’ high-powered offense after the team opted not to re-sign Sam Darnold in the offseason.

And McCarthy certainly has a number of weapons to work with from a team that won 14 games a year ago. Justin Jefferson, arguably the best player in the NFL, provides McCarthy a surefire safety blanket. Jordan Addison and Aaron Jones each have a penchant for explosive plays, too.

Much of the preseason will be spent dissecting how McCarthy builds a rapport with his skill players. Last year, in one preseason game, McCarthy completed 11 of 17 passes for 188 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Here’s everything you need to know to watch every Vikings preseason game in 2025.
