With the calendar turning to August and camps getting underway around the United States for the upcoming high school football season, now is the perfect time to start checking on who the top players are from Kansas.

While not known for having elite-level prep talent yet, the state is quickly finding itself as a growing hotbed for players who are gaining major Division I offers from programs around college football.

Here is a look at some of the top quarterbacks set to hit the gridiron this fall in Kansas:

Jaylen Mason, Wichita Northwest

Mason is currently set to remain in-state and compete for the Kansas Jayhawks, but he has earned offers from Big 12 rival Iowa State and Liberty, which has become a quarterback-factory over the past few years. He threw for almost 2,000 yards last year with 24 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

Aiden Scott, Shawnee Heights

Scott averaged 345 yards passing per game as a junior, throwing for 32 touchdowns against just six interceptions in nine games. He also completed over 60 percent of his passes.

Gannon Jacobson, Southeast of Saline

With 33 touchdowns and over 2,100 yards passing last year, Jacobson put his name on the map. He helped Southeast of Saline win the state championship this past year, rushing for over 600 yards while making almost 70 tackles on defense.

Jordey Pierce, Arkansas City

Pierce was efficient when called upon, completing 55 percent of his throws with 12 touchdowns in nine games. He is a three-time all-state selection, will be a four-year varsity starter and holds five offers.

Kasen Parsons, Osage City

Parsons, who also shined on defense as a linebacker, hit on 76 percent of his throws on the year, completing 21 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Along with being a baseball player, Parsons is exceptional at throwing the javelin, recording a throw that placed him in the Top-10 in the United States earlier this year.

Robert Hunter, Hutchinson

Hunter racked up over 1,600 yards passing and more than 400 yards rushing with 23 combined touchdowns last year, all while completing 78 percent of his passes. He has committed to South Dakota State to play defensive back, holding offers from both North Dakota State and Yale.
