The Colts most recent depth chart reveals where their various position competitions currently stand ahead of their preseason matchup with the Ravens.

Indy released their unofficial depth chart Monday, revealing how each position on the roster currently stacks up. No decision has been made on a starting quarterback just yet, so Anthony Richardson Sr.’s job is not lost yet.

But the same can’t be said for Jaylon Jones.

Jones, a 23-year-old cornerback who started all 17 games in 2024, is listed behind rookie Justin Walley.

Walley has been impressive in the early stages of training camp, and understandably is recognized for his hard work. But Jones is currently managing a hamstring injury he suffered in practice on July 29. He has not returned to the field since.

While his injury led to a relatively easy depth chart selection, a healthy Jones would likely make this a much more difficult decision for the Colts staff. The former seventh-round pick from Texas A&M has fought his way to a starting role, and for the most part, has excelled.

In 17 starts last season, Jones registered 100 tackles, 12 passes defended and two interceptions.

The Colts don’t know completely what they have in Walley yet, but the initial signs point towards a defender who will challenge for playing time early.

Can he beat out a healthy Jones fair and square? Possibly. Regardless, Jones has some reestablishing work to do once he makes it back.
