Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of NBA icon Scottie Pippen, recently shared whether the former couple’s daughter is still Kim Kardashian’s goddaughter.
After a decade of friendship, Larsa and Kim had a falling out, but prior to their 2020 incident, the Skims cofounder was appointed the godmother to Larsa and the six-time NBA champion’s daughter, Sophia Pippen.
“I feel like Sophia has a good relationship with Kim,” Larsa said on a recent appearance on The Jason Lee Show. “They’re loving to her, so I feel like I don’t want to tarnish that. It’s fine.”
“I’m not the same person I was yesterday,” she said, “and I feel like I’m good.”
Why are Kim Kardashian and Larsa Pippen no longer friends?
In July 2020, fans noticed that Kim unfollowed Larsa on Instagram and as did Kim’s sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian. Kim also didn’t make an appearance at Larsa’s 46th birthday party, which fans believed it to be odd given the closeness of their friendship.
Larsa broke her silence with on her Instagram Story a few weeks after her birthday on July 8 sharing that she was focusing on “my children, my new fitness brand Larsapippenfitness, and my relationships in real life,” she wrote per a screenshot via People. She also mentioned that the internet was “focused on who I am following and who I am not following on social media.” The model teased that Kim’s husband at the time, Kanye West, had something to do with them no longer being friends.
“Praying that everybody finds peace in their own lives and focus on what brings THEM happiness,” she wrote in a tweet.
“I just feel like Kanye was in a place where he, you know, he really didn’t trust anyone with Kim,” Pippen said on a Hollywood Raw podcast, according to E! News. “So I feel like I was the person that was like, ‘Oh, like, don’t be so close to her because you’re so close to her’… that, you know, that kind of had something to do with it.”
How are Kim Kardashian and Larsa Pippen now?
It’s been five years since the two have been publicly seen together, but Larsa insists that their relationship is better than before.
“I feel like we’re in a really good place. You know, I feel like there was a lot [of] miscommunication at the time,” she said to Us Weekly in 2022. “We’ve all apologized to each other. We’re in a really good place.”
Larsa spoke about how the situation was handled but didn’t go into exact details on why they stopped speaking.
“People have disagreements with their friends all the time, but because of who we are, it’s just so magnified,” Larsa added. “In reality, it’s like, you know, maybe I could have navigated it different. Someone else could have navigated [it] different.”
“We’re all living our best lives,” she continued. “We’re all focusing on our families. We’re happy for each other. I couldn’t be happier for them and I know they couldn’t be happier for me and you know, that’s where it is.”
