The New York Yankees aren’t done pursuing hitting.
Right now, the Yanks’ lineup has a lot of lefties. The priority is adding a right-handed bat.
According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, one possible add before the trade deadline is Harrison Bader.
The 31-year old outfielder has spent this season with the Minnesota Twins, where he’s having a strong campaign. He already has 13 doubles, 12 homers and a .255 average to go with his usual solid outfield defense.
Bader previously played for the Yankees in 2022 and 2023.
He was traded to New York in 2022 for Jordan Montgomery.
In 2023, the Yankees waived Bader, and he was claimed by the Reds.
Bader played 98 games with the Yankees and hit .237 with seven homers and 19 steals.

In his career overall, Bader has played for the Yankees, Twins, Cardinals, Mets and Reds.
It makes sense for the out-of-contention Minnesota to trade Bader.
And the Yankees would certainly be a logical fit.
Bader is also from Bronxville, New York, just 15 miles north of Manhattan. So it’d be a homecoming, one he has made before and one he surely wouldn’t mind making again.
