Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders is healthy enough to be on campus in Boulder. Coach Prime made his grand return on Friday, five days before the start of CU’s fall camp.

USA Today’s Brent Schrotenboer shared the good news: Coach Prime is in good enough health to be back ahead of schedule.

“Colorado football coach Deion Sanders has returned to campus in Boulder after recovering from an undisclosed health issue at his ranch in east Texas this summer,” Schrotenboer wrote.

“Sanders, 57, announced it on social media July 25, just a couple of days before his team is due to report for preseason training camp. A school spokesman confirmed he is in Boulder. He also is scheduled to hold a news conference with his medical team in Boulder on Monday.”

That aforementioned Monday press conference is expected to be good news.

“There will be many eyes on Sanders’s Buffaloes during the 2025 college football season as fans and analysts alike wonder how he’ll coach without his son, Shedeur Sanders, under center. Fortunately it seems Sanders is in good health as he embarks on the new year,” Sports Illustrated’s Liam McKeone wrote.

Sanders’ oldest son, Deion Jr., stayed with Coach Prime throughout his recovery. Bucky talked about it.

“I’m kind of sad (leaving the East Texas ranch). I’m not gonna lie to you. I learned to really actually love this place. I really never stayed out here much. … It’s not even just about being here. It was like the battle that was fought here. The battle that was fought and won here. That’s like the main important thing. Boys didn’t left the house for two months,” Deion Jr. said in a video posted by Well Off Media.

Coach Prime’s out of the house now. He’s in Boulder getting ready for his most interesting season as a head coach yet.
