The Philadelphia Eagles are tremendous at a lot of things under head coach Nick Sirianni, however, there’s still room for improvement on the offensive side of the ball.
More specifically, star quarterback Jalen Hurts needs to be better when it comes to distributing the football to his top playmakers like A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert.
It may sound funny because the Eagles are the defending Super Bowl champions, but to all of Hurts’ strengths he did have a major deficiency last season in spite of the team’s massive success.

Hurts and the Birds offense ranked dead last in the NFL in pass attempts during the 2024 season with 448, and while a lot of that was by design with Saquon Barkley breaking records and topping 2,000 yards there’s no question that Sirianni’s offense needs to diversify.
No player has ever posted Barkley’s type of numbers in back-to-back seasons, and Hurts has shown in big games, including the Super Bowl, that he can air the ball out to his top weapons.
In two of the last three seasons, Hurts threw for over 3,700 yards and outplayed Patrick Mahomes in not one, but both Super Bowl appearances that the Eagles faced the Kansas City Chiefs in.
Now, purely throwing the ball more won’t magically make the Philadelphia quarterback the focal point of the offense, especially because the Eagles’ elite offensive line allows them to run the ball better than almost any other team, but Hurts’ ability to sling the ball around does open up more opportunities for the offense.
The biggest question once again for Hurts comes down to having to re-learn another new offense with former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore now in New Orleans.
