On Monday, the Green Bay Packers inked their offensive lineman Zach Tom to a new contract. ESPN reports, citing sources, that Tom and the Packers agreed to a four-year, $88 million contract extension.

Tom was a fourth-round pick in 2022 and has started every game in the past two seasons. Over his first three years, he has made 39 starts, including 34 at right tackle, four at left tackle, and one at left guard.

Now that he’s signed a new deal ahead of the 2025 NFL season, the question is: where does Tom rank among the league’s highest-paid offensive linemen? While the 26-year-old may not be a household name, he’s now earning like one of the top players at his position.

After signing his extension, Spotrac noted it makes Tom the ninth-highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL by average annual salary, tying him with Philadelphia Eagles’ Jordan Mailata.

Moreover, the same outlet spotlighted that the deal includes $30.2 million guaranteed through a signing bonus and keeps him under contract with the Packers on a five-year, $91.4 million deal through 2029.

While primarily playing as a right tackle, Green Bay probably values his versatility, which is why they decided to offer an extension rather than letting him eventually walk as a free agent. Recently, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur praised the player’s versatility.

“I think he can play any position,” LaFleur said (h/t The Athletic). “So it just happened to be that he kind of found his home at right tackle, but I think his versatility is one of the things that makes him special.

“I think he can play all five and there’s not a lot of guys that can do that. But I would say that he’s got the athleticism. I think he’s a very intelligent football player and he’s played pretty consistent over the course of the last few years.”
