The No. 1 women’s basketball prospect in the Class of 2025 has brought her dazzling, dominating ways to the Czech Republic for the FIBA U19 World Cup.
USC-bound Jazzy Davidson, a Sporting News 1st Team All-American and guard/wing from Clackamas (OR), had arguably the top individual performance of the tournament so far on Tuesday as Team USA annihilated Israel 114-40 to finish Pool A play 3-0.
Davidson dropped game-highs of 24 points and eight assists to go with four steals and two blocks in only 23:27 of action. She shot a scorching hot 11-13 from the field, 9-10 from inside the arc, and 2-3 from three. With at least 16 points coming off her assists, she had a hand in at least 40 points of offense – as much as Israel scored as a team. And she finished with a game-high plus-minus of +55.
USA led 37-13 after one quarter and 60-21 at halftime. It shot 46-77 (58.9%) from the field and out-rebounded Israel 58-15, grabbing 10 more offensive rebounds than Israel had in total.
Sienna Betts, the second-ranked recruit in the Class of 2025 and The Sporting News’ reigning National High School Player of the Year, continued her hot play with an efficient double-double. The 6-foot-4 power forward/center and soon-to-be UCLA Bruin registered 14 points and 12 rebounds on 6-9 shooting in under 19 minutes of floor time.
Saniyah Hall, another 1st Team All-American and the top-ranked rising senior in the country out of Montverde Academy (FL), had her second 20-point outing in three contests. She went for 20 points and six steals on 7-10 shooting (2-3 3FG, 4-4 FT) in just over 18 minutes.
UConn guard Kayleigh Heckel, who transferred from USC and played her high school ball at Long Island Lutheran (NY), had seven points and five assists. Like Davidson, she played 23:27 and finished with a team-high plus-minus of +55.
Marist (GA) guard Kate Harpring chipped in 14 points, Park Hill South (MO) wing Addison Bjorn had eight points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals in just over 10 minutes, and Maddyn Greenway of Providence Academy (MN) added four points, six assists, and three steals.
