Less than a year later, several first-round picks from the 2024 MLB Draft have already proven themselves to be capable Major League players.

Nick Kurtz — picked No. 4 overall by the Athletics — has showcased his elite all-fields power. Cam Smith, the No. 14 overall pick by the Cubs, is emerging as a high-impact bat for the Astros. Another top-10 pick, Jac Caglianone, is finding his power stroke for the Royals.

All 30 teams will vie for the latest batch of high-impact prospects at the 2025 MLB Draft, a two-day event that begins with Rounds 1-3 on Sunday, July 13. It’s a change of pace from recent years, when the draft was split among three days.

This year’s draft includes a glut of elite young talent, ranging from flame-throwing hurlers like Tennessee’s Liam Doyle and LSU’s Kade Anderson, to high school phenoms like Ethan Holliday and Seth Hernandez.
