Two lifelong friends have turned a podcast into a worldwide sensation. Joe Santagato and Frank Alvarez are bringing “The Basement Yard” podcast on the road with the “From the Basement to the World” tour.
Santagato produced video content at a young age, eventually working for high-profile websites. An entrepreneur, Santagato started “The Basement Yard,” with Alvarez eventually becoming a co-host. Both grew up on the same block in Queens.
The podcast has millions of followers on TikTok and over one million subscribers on YouTube. Some episodes range from debates to crazy stories. The tour is expected to be as interactive as possible, which is what makes the podcast work.

“We try to throw as much elements from the (podcast) as we can into the live show, so that’s why we called it the Basement Yard Experience—because we want people in the crowd to feel like, ‘Oh, we’re kind of watching the podcast,'” Santagato said via The Pitch.
“I personally did not think it was worth people’s time if we just sat in a chair and looked at each other and talked the entire time.”
