Cal Raleigh stands alone.
It’s probably not the last time this season that sentence will apply to the Seattle Mariners catcher, but it certainly fits on Tuesday night.
He has put together a power-hitting first half of the season like no other player in franchise history.
Back in the historic 1998 home run chase, Ken Griffey Jr. hit 35 home runs before the All-Star break.
Raleigh blasted his 36th pre-break homer on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium, breaking Griffey Jr.’s franchise record in that category.

Raleigh also homered in response to Aaron Judge.
The Yankees superstar went the other way with a homer about half an hour earlier, his 34th of the season to pull within one of Raleigh.
But then Raleigh pushed his lead back to two again with a big swing of his own.
This power race isn’t going to slow down anytime soon.
