For just the 33rd time in history, sports fans will be treated to a sports equinox today. A sports equinox is when the four major North American sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL) all have games on the same day. Today, there will be no shortage of intriguing matchups for prediction market traders to focus on.
The action will start simultaneously on the hardwood and ice at 7 p.m. ET. The Cleveland Cavaliers will host the dangerous Minnesota Timberwolves, while the Washington Wizards continue their road trip against the Charlotte Hornets. Meanwhile, in the NHL, the New York Rangers will host the struggling Los Angeles Kings at Madison Square Garden.
Just an hour later, the real fun begins. The Golden State Valkyries will host the Atlanta Dream in a pivotal WNBA Finals Game 5. Defense has been the story of this series, and tonight’s game should be another hard-fought, low-scoring affair. The Tampa Bay Rays will have hosting duties for Game 3 of the World Series against the Milwaukee Brewers in what could be a statement game. Then, around 15 minutes later, Monday Night Football will kick off when Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys head East to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
The slate will conclude when the Detroit Red Wings take on the Edmonton Oilers north of the border, followed by an NBA nightcap with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets hosting Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors.
And since a sports equinox is such a rare event, we’ll dive in and show you some equally unique ways trade on prediction markets with cross-sport parlays. It’s not every day you can put together predictions across the NFL, NHL, NBA, WNBA and MLB all in one parlay, especially with ProphetX. And new users can sign up with promo code TSN to earn a $75 prediction bonus on ProphetX.
The Sporting News shares how to use ProphetX to predict on Monday’s loaded Sports Equinox slate, including the best offers and information about the platform.

What is a sports equinox?
Traditionally, a sports equinox is when all four major North American professional sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL) feature games on the exact same calendar day. In some years, other events like the WNBA, soccer or other sports have coincided on the same day as well.
According to NBC Boston, Monday will be the 33rd sports equinox in history. The first one occurred on Oct. 17, 1971, with a World Series Game 7, 12 NFL games, three NBA games and six NHL games. There has been at least one sports equinox every year since 2015, including three in 2022, one each year from 2023 to 2025, and this year’s rendition.
This year’s equinox will feature Game 3 of the World Series between the Rays and the Brewers, Monday Night Football between the Eagles and Cowboys, nine NBA matchups and three NHL contests.

Sports Equinox cross-sport parlays on ProphetX
Best sports equinox parlay
- WNBA: Valkyries vs. Dream under 149.5 total points
- MLB: Brewers ML vs. Rays
- NFL: Cowboys ML vs. Eagles
- NHL: Oilers -1.5 puck line vs. Flames
- NBA: Nuggets -7.5 spread vs. Warriors
- Probability: 3.76% on ProphetX (trade $10 to earn $255.88)
This play takes a leg from each of the marquee American sports leagues in play on Monday night. To open the slate, the Valkyries and Dream will continue their back-and-forth bout in the WNBA Finals. Both games played at the Chase Center in this series have gone below this line, and both teams’ defensive presence is what’s lifted them to this championship series.
Then, the Brew Crew must win their eighth game in a row during their electric postseason run. The Brewers have been tremendous at mounting comebacks; they’ve come back from a deficit in four of their last five games. Tampa looked well on their way to equalize the series with a four-run first inning, but it was Milwaukee that prevented them from scoring again and accumulating the five required runs to win.
Next, the Cowboys need to handle business against a weakened Eagles side. They’ll be without both Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith, so Dallas’ defense doesn’t have many excuses if they put forth another bad performance. The Cowboys’ offense hasn’t scored more than 16 points in back-to-back weeks, but there’s a prime opportunity here against Philadelphia.
On the ice, Edmonton’s Western Conference-best 17 points will make their presence known against a lackluster Flames squad that started their season 0-5. The Flames have allowed 3.9 goals per game (3rd-most), which is problematic when they head a few hours north. Finally, the Denver Nuggets should be able to cruise to an easy victory against an 0-3 Golden State Warriors side. Steph Curry and Co. have suffered an Opening Night 22-point blowout loss to the Lakers, followed by losses to the rebuilding Grizzlies and Suns. There’s no reason why Nikola Jokic and his team shouldn’t blow Golden State out in the Mile High City.

The zoo parlay
- MLB: Rays ML vs. Brewers
- NFL: Eagles +4.5 spread vs. Cowboys
- NBA: Timberwolves ML vs. Cavaliers
- NBA: Hawks +5 spread vs. Rockets
- Probability: 5.94% on ProphetX ($10 to gain $158.40)
This selection of sports teams with animal names features games across the diamond, gridiron and hardwood. The Atlanta Hawks will get this play started at 7 p.m. ET when they head to Charlotte to take on the Hornets. Atlanta looked convincing in their seven-point win against the Magic that reached a 132-point total. Their terrific trio of Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels hasn’t lost any progress found last season, and they should be able to cover the spread against Houston.
At the same time, Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves will take on Orlando in the Sunshine State. Minnesota had no problem demolishing the new-look Miami Heat in their season opener, and Edwards already looks like an MVP contender. Moving over to the diamond, the Rays will host their first World Series game against the Brewers, with every home game feeling like a must-win. Then, the Eagles will host a Cowboys defense that has been quite flawed in 2026. Philly needs to salvage anything they can, and Tanner McKee has a solid opportunity to do well on Monday night.
The bird exhibit
- NFL: Saquon Barkley anytime TD vs. Cowboys
- NBA: Jalen Johnson over 28.5 points + assists vs. Rockets
- NHL: Red Wings to LOSE vs. Oilers
- Probability: 15.27% on ProphetX ($10 to gain $55.50)
Does anyone hear chirping? This combination of picks features teams with a bird as their mascot, or their name has vocabulary that relates to the winged animal. If Barkley plays, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t find the endzone against a poor Cowboys rushing defense. They’ve allowed seven total TDs to opposing running backs this season. Philly’s RB crossed the pylons the first time his team hosted Dallas in 2025. With Smith out, Barkley should see ample usage if he is able to suit up.
Moving to the NBA hardwood, Jalen Johnson has been one of the league’s best players through three games. He’s averaging a triple-double (21.7 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 10.0 APG) and he’s an integral part of Atlanta’s offense. The sixth-year forward is still only 24 years old, and he finished with his season bests in points (26) and assists (16) in Saturday night’s game against the Rockets. He’s playing them again on the Sports Equinox, and he should be included in every prediction slip.
The Red Wings, a team that is actually named after a former amateur athletic club and cycling team (the Montreal Winged Wheelers) that owner James E. Norris used to play for, will have a tough matchup against Edmonton. The Red Wings have been having a tough time scoring goals this season with an eighth-fewest 2.5 goals per game, which is a problem when you have to outscore Connor McDavid and Co. The Oilers have only lost three games this season, one of them being an overtime loss on Opening Night, and they’ll be the ones dealing the loss to a lackluster Detroit side. The Red Wings may not be an actual bird, but we’ll let it slide in honor of the sports equinox.
Cold-weather phenoms
- NHL: Maple Leafs vs. Flames over 5.5 goals
- NBA: Anthony Edwards over 27.5 points vs. Cavaliers
- NBA: Jayson Tatum over 27.5 points vs. Bulls
- MLB: Brewers ML vs. Rays
- Probability: 9.32% on ProphetX ($10 to gain $97.30)
This last parlay highlights a few teams and players who play in a city that may be subject to frigid winters. Both the Leafs and Flames enter Monday night’s contest in the midst of a three-or-more-game win streak; one of those has to come to an end. With how well both teams are putting the puck in the back of the net, this game should be heading over. Toronto’s 3.8 goals per game (5th in NHL) should be helped by Calgary’s rate of 3.9 goals allowed per game (3rd most in NHL).
After dropping a 45-point double-double that featured Anthony Edwards hitting nine three-pointers, he has yet to etch more than 26 points on the scoresheet. That should change tonight against a Cavaliers team that had trouble getting past Brooklyn on Saturday. First options have done well against Cleveland this season, which is a welcome sight for Edwards and Co. Leaving it on the hardwood, Tatum should finish with over 27 points for the second game in a row, this time against Chicago. Tatum put up a monster 36-point, nine-rebound, seven-assist game against the Knicks on Friday night, and now he’ll face a Bulls team that has allowed the third-most points per game this season to opposing teams (128.0 PPG).
Finally, the Brewers may not have their traditional advantage in terms of starting pitcher tonight, but they still have a decent shot of getting past the Rays in the Sunshine State. Freddy Peralta will take the mound for the home side tonight, while Robert Gasser will get the nod for the Brew Crew after he was able to go five scoreless innings against the Dodgers in the NLDS. Milwaukee’s been too resilient during these playoffs, and if four first-inning runs from Tampa wasn’t enough to pull them to victory, it’s hard to imagine what it would take.
How to avoid fees with parlays on ProphetX
ProphetX does not charge a fee if a user creates their own parlay, win or loss. If someone takes a same-game parlay that was already placed as a “taker,” they have to pay a small additional fee.
| Form of prediction | Fees |
| Parlay | No fee for makers |
| Standard trades (singles) | 2% commission ON WINS ONLY |
Like any platform, a parlay that loses still means a user’s original stake is lost. However, a winning play isn’t subject to the standard 2% fee for a win if a user makes their own parlay.
