The Atlanta Dream are halfway there.

Just as they did in Game 2, the Dream pulled away from the Golden State Valkyries in the third quarter in front of a raucous, sold-out crowd at State Farm Arena to win Game 3 of the WNBA Finals.

Angel Reese dictated proceedings again after her 30-point, 16-rebound explosion in Game 2 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The Defensive Player of the Year stayed hot with a 21-point, 12-rebound effort in Game 3 as the Dream won, 97-71, to take a 2-1 series lead over the Valkyries.

For Reese, it marked the continuation of her remarkable WNBA Finals. After lamenting her lack of aggressiveness in Atlanta’s Game 1 defeat, the Dream’s superstar center sizzled once more in the first WNBA Finals in Georgia since 2013.

At 24 years and 168 days old, Reese became the youngest player in Finals history to record three consecutive double-doubles.

For the series, Reese is averaging 21.7 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. She must be considered the huge favorite to win Finals MVP at this point, given the outsized impact she is having on this series.

In short, the Valkyries can’t guard her. And Reese knows it.
