Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

A former Texas A&M talent who shone on the recruiting trail in his native Memphis, Stewart has emerged as one of Dante Moore’s favorite targets since arriving in Eugene ahead of the 2024 season. His arrest brings more upheaval to a Ducks side that entered the campaign tipped to compete for a national championship.

With that, here’s what we know so far about Stewart’s arrest.

Evan Stewart arrest details

Stewart was arrested early Sunday on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Court records obtained by Oregon Live confirmed that Stewart was cited at 5:34 a.m. PT on Sunday. He was booked in into Springfield Municipal Jail around 7 a.m. PT before being released to a third party an hour later.

Local ABC affiliate KATU reported that the third party in question was his Ducks teammate, Dakorien Moore.

Stewart missed out on Oregon’s win over Nebraska with an undisclosed injury. He was initially listed as questionable before being downgraded to doubtful in the lead-up to the contest. Ducks head coach Dan Lanning mentioned Stewart when referencing the number of players Oregon was missing in its clash with the Cornhuskers.

Stewart, a senior, leads the Ducks in receptions (27), yards (352) and touchdowns (four) thus far.
