The San Francisco 49ers are having a hot season, and they’re undefeated going into their Week 5 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Now that Week 4 games have ended, they’re really one of the select few teams that have won every single game, and that’s something to celebrate.
But, it’s not all fun and games all the time. One NFL analyst is cautioning the 49ers that they have a new problem that may sting even more than they realize. That has to do with a recent injury that is simply troubling.
Kyle Juszczyk’s injury is a ‘game-losing injury,’ NFL expert says
On Tuesday, Ben Solak of ESPN released a bunch of ideas coming off Week 4. In the feature, he says that the 49ers losing Kyle Juszczyk is a “game-losing injury.”
“Juszczyk, who left Sunday’s game against the Broncos in the fourth quarter, has a bone bruise and is out for three to four weeks,” he states in the piece.
He adds that, “Normally, a fullback injury might go unnoticed — heck, any injury for a player with four touches through four games. But Juszczyk has gone in motion on 61 snaps, second only to Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka.”
He also calls him “more integral to the 49ers’ running game” among non-ball carriers because of his talent “as a point-of-attack blocker and his versatility on where he lines up — than any other skill position player in the league.”
In the end, he thinks the 49ers will still do well, but it will hurt more than some realize having Juszczyk sidelined for multiple weeks. So, Brock Purdy and company will have to work a bit harder, perhaps especially against good teams like the Seattle Seahawks.
