The New York Jets came into the offseason with plenty of cap space to work with to spend. And so far, they’ve shown a willingness to spend.
So far in free agency, they’ve spent $22 million on Demario Davis, $10 million on Kingsley Enagbare, $40 million on Minkah Fitzpatrick after a trade, and $36 million on Joseph Ossai.
After all of that spending, Breece Hall, franchised tagged by the Jets, made a post on Twitter/x joking calling out the Jets for spending on these players but not giving him the extension he deserves.
Breece Hall calls out Jets for contract extension amid big FA spending
“Damn we sure got a lot of money in Florham Park all these contracts dudes signing,” Hall posted with multiple crying-laughing emojis.

Hall is looking for a long-term deal after the Jets placed the franchise tag on him, preventing him from hitting free agency. With Kenneth Walker landing a roughly A $15 million per-year deal, Hall’s new deal will come in around that mark.
The Jets running back had 1,065 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 2025 for the Jets despite the struggling offense last year with Justin Fields, Brady Cook, and Tyrod Taylor.

Hall deserves a massive extension, and while the Jets are spending over $100 million on some free agents and trade pickups, Hall is still on his franchise tag.
The Jets still have time to work out a long-term deal with Hall this offseason, and with how much they’re spending, there’s little reason why they shouldn’t splurge on Hall.
A three-year deal like what Walker got from the Kansas City Chiefs would be a realistic deal for Hall. While it’s a lot for a running back, Hall deserves it, and the Jets have the money to justify such a deal.
