The Buffalo Bills entered the offseason with two starting offensive linemen as pending free agents.

But now there is only one after the Bills reportedly agreed to a four-year, $52 million deal with center Connor McGovern, which will keep him off the open market.

That now leaves guard David Edwards as the last unsigned starting offensive lineman in Buffalo.

Here’s what an NFL insider had to say about what McGovern’s extension means for Edwards.

What McGovern extension means for Edwards

Before signing McGovern to his deal, NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reported that the Bills only had the money to sign one of McGovern or Edwards.

“My understanding is [the Bills] only have space to sign one of Connor McGovern and David Edwards in free agency,” Wolfe said.

Wolfe added after the agreement was reported that, at the very least, McGovern’s deal means Edwards will test free agency, where he should have a big market.

So, knowing that, it looks like Edwards might be done in Buffalo.

We’ll have our answer in the coming days when the unofficial start of free agency hits on Monday, and the official start comes on Wednesday.
