The Denver Broncos should no longer be considering a move to acquire A.J. Brown. That is, if a recent rumor is true.
It was reported earlier in the week by NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo that Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is looking for a “Quinnen Williams-esque” return for moving Brown. Last year, the Dallas Cowboys sent a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith to the New York Jets in exchange for Williams.
Then, there was this:
Patriots offered a 1st and 3rd round pick for AJ Brown.

If that’s true, than Roseman is driving up a price that few teams are going to be willing to pay. He either has no real interest in moving Brown or he’s playing hardball until after June 1st when trading Brown would be better for the team from a financial standpoint.
Broncos should be out on A.J. Brown
There are several teams that have been rumored to have interest in Brown with the Denver Broncos being one at the top of that list. But if this is truly Roseman’s asking price, George Paton and Sean Payton should not even consider it.
Brown is a terrific player and he would give the Broncos a huge boost in the wide receiver room, but few players in the league are worth this kind of pricetag and he’s not one of them.
Nearly four years ago, Brown was traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Eagles in exchange for a first and third-round pick in the 2022 draft. And now, with Brown set to turn 29 years old in June, Roseman wants more than he paid four years ago?
That’s ridiculous and most teams are going to see it the same way.
Truth be told, Brown’s contract is the biggest hurdle in any potential deal as the Eagles are going to have to eat a lot of dead money if they ship him off. That number is $43.4 million if a trade is made before June 1st. It drops down to $16.3 million after that date.

It’s a messy situation and one that the Broncos should steer clear of while searching for alternative options.
