The Minnesota Vikings will be looking for a veteran quarterback this offseason after J.J. McCarthy’s disappointing performance in 2025.

Minnesota could add a signal-caller to compete for the starting job with McCarthy, but the franchise could also just flat-out replace the Michigan product. Nevertheless, it sounds like Minnesota has its eyes on these seven quarterbacks this offseason to bolster the position group.

According to NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry, the Vikings will have Malik Willis, Mac Jones, Daniel Jones, Kyler Murray, Geno Smith, and Joe Flacco on their radar.

Aaron Rodgers could also emerge as a potential option if he doesn’t return to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Willis, Mac, Daniel Jones, and Rodgers aren’t realistic options for Minnesota. Willis will likely receive a deal worth over $30 million annually from a team, while both Mac and Daniel Jones will likely remain with their franchises.

Rodgers is also likely to choose between retirement or returning to Pittsburgh, especially with Mike McCarthy now coaching the Steelers.

However, Murray, Smith, and Flacco are viable contenders to be with Minnesota in 2026. Murray is expected to be let go by the Arizona Cardinals, and there’s no denying he would be an electric fit in Kevin O’Connell’s offense.

Smith and Flacco are two older options who would be intriguing, but neither is even an average starter at this point.

We’ll see who the Vikings end up signing to push or even take McCarthy’s job. Minnesota interim general manager Rob Brzezinski will have a ton of quarterback candidates to evaluate.
