The Seattle Kraken have signed a talented center away from his college commitment to come to the professional ranks.

PuckPedia reported Sunday that Seattle has signed Ryden Evers to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The deal will pay Evers approximately $3.225 million across the three years, according to the report.

It’s a fascinating signing, because Evers is an undrafted player who was slated to play at Clarkson University beginning in the fall.

Instead, he got a contract too good to pass up and will join the Kraken organization.

He has spent the last two seasons in juniors with the Penticton Vees, who were part of the BCHL in 2024-25 and now in the WHL this season.

This season, Evers has 31 goals and 38 assists in 60 games.

The expectation would be that Evers can’t jump straight to the NHL and will instead start off at AHL Coachella Valley for the 2026-27 season.

That’ll be quite the jump up for Evers, and a lot different than going to play in the NCAA Division I ranks with Clarkson.

Evidently, Seattle sees promise in Evers, and so he’ll come aboard in hopes of jump starting a professional career.

It’s certainly an exciting chance for him, and the Kraken will just hope that their evaluation is right.
