The Seattle Seahawks and the Las Vegas Raiders have had a strong connection for the last year or so. The Geno Smith trade, Tyler Lockett signing, and Pete Carroll hiring were strong links.

And now, following winning Super Bowl 60 with Seattle, Klint Kubiak left the offensive coordinator job with the Seahawks to become the Raiders’ head coach.

It’s a strong connection, and there might be more coming this offseason. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, people within the NFL believe that Rashid Shaheed, the All-Pro Seahawks wide receiver, could be joining the Raiders this offseason.

Seahawks could lose Rashid Shaheed to Raiders alongside Klint Kubiak

“Some around the league are linking Shaheed to the Raiders,” Fowler writes. “The feeling is that Las Vegas likes him a lot, though it will be selective at the position if the money gets too out of hand.”

The two-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro wide receiver is one of the better returners in the NFL. While he only caught 15 passes for 188 yards and ran for 64 yards on seven attempts with Seattle, he scored multiple touchdowns as a returner.

He had a kick-return touchdown in the nine regular season games he played with the Seahawks, and also returned a punt for a touchdown as well.

But his biggest highlight was returning the opening kickoff of the Seahawks’ NFC Divisional Round game against the San Francisco 49ers for a 95-yard touchdown.

Seattle traded for Shaheed at the deadline, and it worked wonders. But now, with strict cap space and needs elsewhere, Seattle might end up losing Shaheed this offseason.

This report from Fowler indicates that those around the NFL believe Shaheed can, once again, link up with Kubiak after their time with the New Orleans Saints and Seahawks.

The Seahawks-Raiders connection is already strong, and this offseason, it might get even stronger if Shaheed departs for Las Vegas, as some NFL insiders speculate could happen.
