Arsenal travel to Tottenham for a derby showdown on Sunday, with Manchester City breathing down their necks in the Premier League title race.
Wednesday’s collapse from 2-0 up to draw 2-2 at bottom club Wolves saw the Gunners leave the door slightly open to City, who battled to a 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
It means the gap at the summit is down to two points as both clubs have 11 games remaining.
That pressure equation is a factor to make this north London derby truly intriguing because, on current form, Spurs should not represent too much of a problem. Interim boss Igor Tudor takes charge of the hosts for the first time since Thomas Frank’s sacking.
An against-the-odds victory would be only Tottenham’s third of the 2026 calendar year in the Premier League and first since December.

Tottenham vs. Arsenal: Pre-match commentary, analysis, more
15 mins to kickoff: There is more to gain, and consequently more to lose, for both of these teams than any North London derby in recent memory.
The title is not yet lost for Arsenal. Relegation is not yet a danger for Spurs. Not YET, that is…
Read more here before kickoff as these two teams get ready for the most consequential rivalry matchup in decades. Kickoff is right around the corner!
30 mins to kickoff: Alexis Mac Allister scored a 97th-minute goal to give Liverpool a last-gasp victory over Nottingham Forest, which is a big boost to Tottenham’s relegation battle!
45 mins to kickoff: Eberechi Eze has had an interesting first year at Arsenal. After being so reliable earlier in the season with the injuries piling up, Eze has seen a significant reduction in time as the Arsenal midfield gets healthy.
Today, however, with Martin Odegaard still on the bench, Eze has been selected in a big spot. His most recent start came in the FA Cup fourth round win over Wigan, where he assisted two goals in the 4-0 victory, but his last Premier League start saw him hooked at halftime of the 1-1 draw with Brentford. Can he deliver in this massive moment?
1 hour to kickoff: Much of the attention today is on Arsenal and their title chase, but there is also a relegation battle for Tottenham to navigate. Other games going on today include 17th-placed Nottingham Forest hosting Liverpool, which is currently scoreless with 20 minutes to go.
A point for Forest against a strong Liverpool side would be significant, as it would leave them just one back of Spurs. If they were to somehow get a late winner, that would take them above Tottenham and leave Spurs as the last safe team in the table.
1 hour 15 mins to kick: Lineups are in! Arsenal see Martin Odegaard remain on the bench as Eberechi Eze starts in midfield, with Leandro Trossard given the nod at left wing over Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli.
For Tottenham, it looks like Igor Tudor has gone with a 3-5-2 as Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani start up front. Likely, Palhinha starts as the third centre-back, able to step into midfield when in possession.
1 hour 30 mins to kick: Igor Tudor will make his Tottenham debut tonight as the Croatian takes charge of Spurs on an interim basis. His tactics are a significant change from that of Thomas Frank, and they could make for a chaotic match here tonight.

2 hours before kickoff: Hello and welcome to The Sporting News’ live coverage of the north London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal. Manchester City’s win over Newcastle yesterday cut Arsenal’s advantage at the top to just two points.
Are Mikel Arteta’s side feeling the heat after their sapping midweek draw at Wolves? Can Tottenham discomfort their bitter rivals further as interim head coach Igor Tudor takes charge for the first time.

Tottenham vs. Arsenal lineups, team news
Cristian Romero is serving the second of his four-match ban after receiving a red card against Manchester United a couple of weeks ago.
That complicates things for Tudor, who prefers a back three, so Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven could be joined by Archie Gray at centre-back.
Kevin Danso and Destiny Udogie are out, with Pedro Porro a major doubt.
Tottenham starting XI (3-5-2, right to left): Vicario (GK) – Palhinha, Dragusin, Van de Ven – Spence, Sarr, Gallagher, Bissouma, Gray – Kolo Muani, Simons.
Tottenham subs: Austin (GK), Souza, Williams-Barnett, Rowswell, Wilson, Olusesi, Tel, Richarlison, Solanke.
Martin Odegaard was unavailable for Arsenal’s trip to Wolves but Arteta will be hopeful he is available today.
Teenage winger Max Dowman is also not too far away but it is unlikely he’d be involved in the matchday squad for this one with Mikel Merino and Kai Havertz confirmed absentees.
In attack, Arteta has decisions to make as to whether to stick with Gabriel Martinelli or play Noni Madueke on the left, while Gabriel Jesus and Viktor Gyokeres are fighting for the starting berth at centre-forward.
Arsenal starting XI (4-3-3, right to left): Raya (GK) – Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie – Rice, Zubimendi, Eze – Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard.
Arsenal subs: Arrizabalaga (GK), Mosquera, Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly, Norgaard, Odegaard, Madueke, Martinelli, Jesus.
