Jazz Chisholm Jr. wants the New York Yankees to pay him a lot of money.
Of course, that’s not a shock, but now the baseball world has more details as Chisholm heads into the last year of his contract before free agency.
Chisholm told NJ.com that he’s seeking a contract of between 8-10 years for $35 million per season.
That works out to between eight years, $280 million and 10 years, $350 million.
Is Chisholm worth that? Probably not.
But it makes sense for the player to aim for the stars and hope to at least reach the moon.

The problem for Chisholm with coming in at too high a number is that he could make it tough to reach a compromise.
Chisholm is an explosive player, with great power and speed, but he also has some streakiness and some injury history.
The Yankees were actually urged by some analysts to trade Chisholm this offseason, or by this season’s trade deadline.
Certainly, if the Yankees fell out of contention, trading Chisholm would be a logical thing to do to get some value for him rather than letting him leave for somewhere else in free agency for nothing in return.
The Yanks would rather Chisholm be a star and lead them toward the World Series, though. If a new contract comes along with that, maybe it’ll be one that makes everyone happy.
For now, though, Chisholm is seeking a huge payday, one that seems rather unlikely to be reached.
