Domantas Sabonis out for rest of 2025-26 season after undergoing surgery
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Wednesday that Sabonis will miss the rest of this season after choosing to undergo knee surgery.
He’s played in just 19 games this season, as he tried to rehab and play through a meniscus tear, but ultimately decided to cut his season short to fully repair it.

It seems like the logical move, as Sacramento has a 12-44 record (worst in the NBA) and has little to play for in the next couple of months.
This news came less than a week after Zach LaVine was reported to also be out for the rest of the season with an injury of his own.
Sabonis was a hot name on the trade market before the deadline passed, but ultimately stayed with the Kings.
It’s unclear how this injury situation would have been approached if he had been traded at the deadline.
Sabonis is set to remain under contract through the 2027-28 season with the Kings.
