The Cleveland Browns have a lot of issues to resolve this offseason, with the wide receiver and offensive line rooms being in dire need of help.
One of the top players expected to hit free agency is 12-year veteran offensive guard Joel Bitonio. The Browns lifer might finally be on his way to a new team.
ESPN’s Aaron Schatz is hoping such a future occurs, as he wishes that Bitonio finally plays for a “winner” before his NFL career is over.
ESPN writer hopes Joel Bitonio leaves Browns to play for a winner
“Bitonio is still a top-caliber guard in the league,” Schatz writes, “but he deserves to play for a winner before his career is over.”
The 34-year-old guard has spent his entire 12-season NFL career with the Browns. Similar to Hall of Famer Joe Thomas, Bitonio hasn’t left the Browns since being drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
While it’s commendable for Bitonio to be so loyal to one team, Schatz is hoping that the potential Hall of Fame guard gets a chance to play for a “winner” and make a push to win a Super Bowl.

There are plenty of teams around the league that need a new offensive guard. The Los Angeles Chargers are one team to keep an eye on, while the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers all could be landing spots.
Schatz is hoping that Bitonio can make it back to the NFL playoffs for just the third time in his NFL career. He’s made it twice in 12 years with the Browns, and with how good he’s been, and still is, a contender should take a chance on Bitonio this offseason.
