Chris Dobey picked up his first PDC title of the year on Monday, after a dominant 8-1 victory against Stephen Bunting in the final of Players Championship Three, as the second double header of the 2026 PDC Pro Tour season commenced at Wigan’s Robin Park Leisure Centre.

Dobey – the winner of three Players Championship titles in 2025 – went all the way once again as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Shane McGuirk, Jimmy Van Schie, Ryan Joyce, Bradley Brooks, Darryl Pilgrim and Tom Bissell, to set up a clash with Bunting.

The final began with Dobey racing into a 5-0 lead with winning legs coming in 13,14,15,20 and 14 darts respectively, before Bunting ended the drought by picking up his first leg of the tie in Leg Six with a 17 dart hold of throw. This ultimately resulted in being ‘The Bullet’s’ only leg won in the finale, as Dobey rattled off three successive legs and sealed the victory in Leg Nine with a 12 darter to pick up a ninth Players Championship title of his career as well as collecting the £15,000 top prize.

Bunting’s run to the final in his first Players Championship Event of the season saw the Premier League star record victories on the day against Carl Sneyd, Alexander Merkx, Derek Coulson, Danny Noppert, Jonny Clayton and James Wade, before being denied by Dobey.
