The Olympic men’s figure skating final will take place on Friday, February 13.

This is a highly anticipated event because American figure skating phenom Ilia Malinin will be going for the gold medal. The men’s single skating competition consists of two separate events that have a combined score to determine final standings.

The first was the short program, and Malinin dominated that event, finishing with the top score of 108.16. He currently has a massive five-point lead over Japanese figure skater Yuma Kagiyama who is in second with a 103.07 in the short program.
