Super Bowl LX is fast approaching, as the big game is less than two weeks away. Several fans at the game and at home will be watching the matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks

But there will also be plenty of fans looking to tune into the game’s halftime show, which will feature Puerto Rican singer and rapper bad Bunny. The three-time Grammy winner will be the first act to perform the show mostly in Spanish.

How much money is Bad Bunny getting paid for the Super Bowl?

Bad Bunny is not getting paid a certain amount by the NFL for the halftime performance. In fact, Super Bowl halftime performers have never been paid appearance fees for their roles in the show by the league.

Now to be clear, the artists that perform in the halftime show do get a small amount of compensation. Performers receive the standard union-mandated fee through the SAG-AFTRA. According to a July 2025 piece from Wrapbook, the SAG day rate for basic theatrical agreements was $1,246 a day.

The league views being chosen for the show as payment in itself, thanks to the massive marketing opportunity it is for the artists. The 2025 show performer, Kendrick Lamar, saw a 430% jump in Spotify streams after his halftime performance last year, according to Rolling Stone. After Maroon 5’s halftime show during the 2019 Super Bowl, the band saw a 434% increase in sales, according to Billboard. Justin Timberlake had a whopping 534% sales gain following his 2018 Super Bowl performance, per Billboard.

Typically, sponsors like Apple Music pick up the associated costs in setting up the show, but sometimes artists use their own money to fund the performance. For example, The Weeknd reportedly spent $7 million for his 2021 halftime show.

Performing at the Super Bowl in itself is seen as a lucrative marketing opportunity in terms of album sales, ticket sales as well as overall exposure as an artist. As for the details of Bad Bunny’s show, there isn’t much out there just yet. He did release a teaser video with Apple Music in January:

The Super Bowl’s halftime show will start at halftime of Sunday’s game between the Seahawks and Patriots, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET.
