The Minnesota Timberwolves were active before the NBA trade deadline.
One of the new guys, Ayo Dosunmu, has a chance to make a very big impact in the Minnesota rotation.
That led to a humorous exchange between the media and head coach Chris Finch on Friday night.
Finch was asked if Dosunmu fits into the top-eight of his rotation.
He replied, “Yeah, I think if I didn’t play him as one of the 8, I’d probably get fired.”

Fair enough, Finch. Fair enough.
Dosunmu certainly deserves to play that much.
This season, he’s shooting a blistering 45.1% from 3-point range.
That has resulted in an average of 15.0 points per game while also putting up 3.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.8 steals per contest.

The 6-foot-4 Dosunmu was a college star at Illinois before being a second-round pick of Chicago in 2021, but he wasn’t always expected to be a great outside shooter in the NBA.
In his second season, he shot 31.2% from 3, and in his fourth, it was 32.8%.
But in his first, he was at 37.6%, then 40.3% in his third, and now the 45.1% this season.
The Timberwolves will hope he can keep that up. He’s certainly going to get the minutes to try.
