What happened to Karl-Anthony Towns’ eye?

Early in the first quarter of Wednesday’s Nuggets vs. Knicks matchup, Towns was driving to the rim against Jones when the two bumped heads on Towns’ drive, with Jones’ arm also swinging up toward Towns’ face.

After that collision, Towns was immediately seen with a cut above his right eye that resulted in blood on his face and jersey.

Karl-Anthony Towns injury updates

After his collision with Jones, Towns went to the sidelines to get looked at by trainers, per Tim Bontemps.

Because Towns was fouled on the play, he had to shoot his free throws to be able to stay in the game, and he went 2-for-2 from the line with a bandage on his face.

However, Towns then went to the locker room afterward, likely needing stitches to stop the bleeding.

Towns returned to the Knicks’ bench in the second quarter, then returned to the game with a bandage over the eye area.

However, Jones, the other player involved in the collision, was ruled questionable to return with a head contusion by the Nuggets.
