The New York Giants are entering a new era with John Harbaugh as their new head coach, and the former Baltimore Ravens boss already knows the plan of attack.
With the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys usually the two big dogs in the NFC East, the Giants, for lack of a better word, have largely been irrelevant for the past decade or so.
But the hope is that it will change under Harbaugh.
And with the Eagles being the NFC champs, and one of the better teams in the entire conference, Harbaugh, who was a guest on the Howard Eskin Show, detailed that he is building his team to do one thing, and that’s beat the Eagles.
“It starts with the Eagles, let’s just be honest about it, the Eagles are defending champs,” Harbaugh said. “So, you got to build a team to beat the Eagles. Yeah, you got to beat the Commanders and you got to beat the Cowboys, but the Eagles are the champs. So, we have to build a team to beat the Eagles. And everything we do, every practice we have, every film session will be with that in mind.”

Is Harbaugh’s approach right?
Well, first of all, who are we to question the approach of a Super Bowl-winning coach, but Harbaugh’s path forward is an interesting one.
Do the Giants aim to build a team to beat the Eagles? Or should they aim to build a team to be what Harbaugh wants it to be? Because yes, the Eagles are the champs, but what about building your team to beat the Seattle Seahawks, the NFC champs?
It is an interesting way to do it, and Harbaugh is clearly thinking that if the Giants build a team to beat the Eagles, then that opens up the path to the division title. But you still have Dallas and Washington as well.
Either way, Harbaugh has a clear plan of attack for his Giants in Year 1, and it has a big focus on the Eagles.
