Dutch riders dominated the UCI Cyclocross World Championships last year, and the pressure will be on them this weekend with the 2026 edition being held on their home turf.
The Netherlands took home six medals across the seven disciplines last year, headlined by a third consecutive sweep of the Women’s Elite podium and Mathieu van der Poel holding off Belgian rival Wout van Aert for his third straight Men’s Elite title.
The seemingly unstoppable van der Poel is back looking for four in a row, but van Aert won’t be in the picture this year after breaking his ankle in a crash in early January. Belgian Thibau Nys, who finished third in 2025, figures to be van der Poel’s toughest competition.
The top women’s race could well be another orange sweep. Six of the top seven riders in the world rankings are Dutch, with last year’s second-place finisher Lucinda Brand leading the way at No. 1. Can the veteran return to the top of the podium at Worlds for the first time since 2021?
Here’s how to tune in and watch all the action from the Netherlands this weekend.
